My 5 Top Relationship Tips to Survive
I come across a lot of my friends who ask very similar questions, in their troubled relationships.
Both men and women, equally so these issues really are common to us all.
So what are they?
- A lack of understanding would certainly be the first. The solution is plainly obviously, yet for many is challenging to implement. Consider we all come from vastly different backgrounds which all influence our behaviour as well as actions. So communication and the way we carry it out needs to be considered, on both sides.
- When we get into an argument, the situation usually lowers itself into a very toxic and unpleasant environment. I'm sure you've all been there and know what I'm talking. It's stifling. It's depressing. It's horrible. We need to better recognize when it devolves to this level and both work our way back to the top. The alternative is simply an end to what was once cherished and beautiful
- Ask honest and open ended questions. Yep, don't be afraid to ask and be OK with the answer because you might not like it either. Despite the reply you get, keep calm and be accepting because we're talking honesty, aren't we? You can always get some initial advice in asking in a relationship forum before you take the bold move in asking your partner. Simply to gain some insight and, maybe, other follow up questions too.
- Be giving to your significant other. This is a big killer in relationships of all kinds. When we were younger, all we thought about was ourselves. A lot of us never grow past that stage and when it comes to then sharing our lives with another, disaster can strike! Take a long look at who you are, what you represent and how that plays out when interacting with your partner. Are you sharing and giving of yourself or are you still be selfish and a loner?
- Last of all is seek out the help of others that might give you clarity, outside your present situation. I'm guilty of not doing this myself. Why? Because for me it was an admission that I had somehow failed in being the best I could be. In hindsight, it's silly to throw away something so honored but that's how my mind worked. Seeking the help from a 3rd party will give you a clarity you can't get from inside your head, you simply can't.
So thoughts? Which one strikes you as being more important in YOUR situation, right now?
Has it helped or hasn't?
